The role

As a Recruitment Consultant – Engineering, you are responsible for the full recruitment process: from finding and speaking with engineering professionals to managing client relationships and successfully bringing candidates and organisations together.

You will initially work on recruitment assignments for existing clients. This provides a solid foundation to get to know the market, build relationships with candidates and clients, and develop a strong understanding of the engineering disciplines you recruit for.

As your experience and network grow, the role develops further into managing your own market. You will expand your professional network, identify commercial opportunities and build your own client portfolio.

The position combines recruitment, relationship management and business development, with considerable freedom and responsibility in how you develop your market.
 

Key responsibilities

• Source and approach engineering professionals through different channels and your own network;
• Interview candidates to understand their experience, expertise and career ambitions;
• Match professionals with suitable opportunities at our clients;
• Manage recruitment processes from initial contact through to placement;
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with candidates, contractors and clients;
• Develop a strong understanding of clients, their technical environments and recruitment needs;
• Stay connected with professionals after placement and visit contractors and clients where relevant;
• Identify new opportunities within existing accounts;
• Develop new business and build your own client portfolio.

What we are looking for

Ideally, you have two to three years of experience in recruitment and are looking for an environment where you can take ownership of your work and further develop your recruitment and commercial skills.

Recruitment experience, however, is not an absolute requirement. A genuine interest in people and engineering, combined with a commercial mindset and the ambition to learn the profession, can be just as relevant.

You:

• Are genuinely interested in people and enjoy building relationships;
• Are curious about engineering and motivated to understand technical roles and environments;
• Have a commercial mindset and recognise opportunities;
• Are comfortable taking ownership and working independently;
• Are eager to learn and continuously develop;
• Are fluent in English, both spoken and written. Dutch is an advantage, but not a requirement.
